Overview

Negombo is a bustling coastal city located close to Sri Lanka’s Bandaranaike International Airport. Known for its sandy beaches and vibrant fish market, Negombo offers a blend of relaxation and cultural experiences. The Dutch Fort, built in the 17th century, and St. Mary’s Church are notable historical landmarks. The lagoon is famous for its seafood and picturesque boat rides. Visitors can also enjoy water sports such as diving and windsurfing. The Hamilton Canal, originally constructed by the Dutch, is a great spot for a boat tour.

Negombo’s nightlife features beachside bars and restaurants that add to its appeal as a lively destination.
